I'm sure most people have heard about
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children - hopefully to be released sometime mid this year. For those of you who don't know what it is:
"Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is the much anticipated sequel to Square's top selling game Final Fantasy VII. The sequel however will not be in the form of a game [like Final Fantasy X-2], but instead as a CG movie.
The movie will run for somewhere between 70 and 80 minutes and will be a DVD only release. It will feature a total of 20 characters, including the popular Cloud and Sephiroth, and is being developed by Square-Enix in conjunction with Visual Works.
It is expected to be released in Japan in Summer, 2004, with a US release to follow shortly after [possible release date July 10, 2004 although we are unsure if this has been confirmed]." - adventchildren.net

"What is This?" An Informative Look at the Shinra Club
For those of you who know what Shinra is, you can skip this entire section, and if not, then please continue.
"What is Shinra?"
If you've ever played Final Fantasy VII (copyright going to the wonderful Squaresoft) you should know who they are. Shinra is the multi-"gil" (gil is the FFVII monetary system) Electric Power company with a highly megalomaniac streak and enough power behind their actions to give them the ability to pretty much own the entire world contained within FFVII. That's right. You don't like the way the world is being run, and you get... erased. Not to mention they're tendency to partake in ruling the world "with fear". Yes. Shinra is one of those fun corporations who believes in dog-eat-dog, and happens to also be at the VERY top of the food chain.
Or to sum it up, a corporation of madmen, madwomen, mad scientists, mad everything. Mad mad mad. (and I'm not meaning angry - I'm talking egomaniac-insane type people.) A deliciously evil corporation. And we all know how we feel about evil corporations. ^^ Hey, I'd be the President's ho, anyday. Yay, Rufus!
So, anyway, welcome now to the Shinra Club - or sometimes referred to as the SSA (Submit to Shinra Association).

How to Join
How do you do it? Oh, my friend, it's so easy. First, you have to sign several contracts that give Shinra full possession of your puny human soul, for either office or "lab" work. Or, if you'd rather avoid a bunch of forms, you can simply go off and contact:

Membership Requirements
Pretty much - nothing. It's nice if you draw Shinra stuff, or you know, participate in contests, but SSA is kinda just for the hell of it. If you do have a fanart, link it on the main page for others to see, and you'll get a lot of Shinra fans squealing at the hotness of it all. Exposure! It's what we all want.
Also, it's also hoped that you might be so kind as to place the club icon in your signature or your journal. But you don't have to! But it gives us the added publicity we need for more members, and more members equals more art and what not. You understand, yes? (still, don't feel obligated to do this).

The Yaoi Club - Our Affiliate
Yaoi (male/male relationships, sometimes called 'slash') is actually an incredibly popular club with a lot of followers. ^^ Our first real affiliate, they're also one of the nicer clubs out there. I think they have some goal to affiliate with all the clubs in existence on DA, but still... anyway, for all those who enjoy seeing certain Turks with certain Presidents, you can experience other similar experiences here!
The Golden Snitch Club - Our Affiliate
Nothing to do with Shinra or even Final Fantasy... this actually is a club based of the game of Quidditch (specifically the Golden Snitch) from Harry Potter. ^^ Lamont founded this one on a whim, so it's pretty random, but highly cool! So, if you know what Harry Potter is, check it out and join. If you don't, join anyway. It's cool.
Final Fantasy Fan Club
A more directly related club, the FFFC caters not only to your FFVII needs, but to all your FF needs in general. Their little icon is so cute! ^^
Star Ocean Lovers
Star Ocean is a mildly well known game with an anime that exists only in Japan. Still, it's a friggen awesome game, and the anime is sooo cute! SOL was the first club I joined when I started DA - it's cool.
Final Fantasy X2
Ah, sequels. It seems to be Square's new thing - what with Advent Children coming out as well. With a redo of character designs and Yuna sporting outfits akin to Lara Croft, who couldn't call this game interesting? Um, yeah. Join their club.
Library of the Unwritten
As the administrator of this club puts it:
"'Unwritten' is short for Library of the Unwritten, and is a club for Role Playing, where we roleplay using journal threads." Hm... RPGs are cool - definate addition to the list!
